Fast Fact: Today is Dr. Seuss's Birthday. He wrote under several different names. His real name was Theodor Seuss Geisel and he used several pen names, including: Theo LeSieg (“Geisel” spelled backwards), Rossetta Stone, Theophrastus Seuss, and (of course) Dr. Seuss. He was not a doctor but added the title "doctor" before Seuss (his mother's maiden name) while in college to lend credibility to his writing and character and to his father's wish that his son would get a doctorate. He won several major awards including: two Academy Award, the Pulitzer Prize, the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award and a Peabody Award.
Thought for the Day: "Oh the things you can find, if you don't stay behind." Dr. Seuss
You’ve got to keep moving forward and progressing because there are plenty of things in the world to discover. Also, if you lead the way you get to control what it is you find, rather than finding things someone else thinks is interesting.
The view from behind is not a very good view, as the person in front of you is blocking most of it. So get out in front and face things head on. You’ll find that it’s much more fascinating, and there is plenty more to see.
Happy Birthday Wishes: Happy birthday to Sara Ripp ad Karsyn Nichols
